just ask us
it's no wonder
you hardly notice us,
with these barriers
stacked around us,
removing our ability
to live alongside you.
it's not your fault
you don’t understand us,
while your prejudice
is louder than us,
removing our ability
to talk with you.
it's no wonder
you don't miss us.
you grew up in a world
that's excluding us,
so you think it's our abilities
preventing our equality.
is the message getting through?
our minds and bodies
don’t segregate us.
we have answers
to our lack of access -
just ask us,
that's all we're asking you.
