DAN TO STAGE A NATIVITY PLAY IN WESTMINSTER FRIDAY 22ND DECEMBER 2000 WESTMINSTER ABBEY COFFEE SHOP 1.15pm CONTACT 0121 247 4424 or 0208 889 1361 THURSDAY 07855 143 075 FRIDAY Disabled people from all over the country will stage a Nativity Play that calls on Tony Blair to make a new years resolution that ensures that disabled people have the choice not to live in institutions. Disabled people in fancy dress will be acting out this specially written version of the Nativity on the streets of Westminster ending at Downing Street. Jesus left his stable and went home and it's time that disabled people had the same choice. DAN is calling on Tony Blair to work with DAN and other organisations of Disabled People to create a manifesto commitment that ensures the end of institutions for disabled people. DAN wants a meeting early in the New Year with key players within the Labour Party to create this. As many people celebrate Christmas this year thousands of disabled people are locked away in institutions against their will with no hope of getting out and participating in society.
