Vigil report week 6 : FROM THE COURT OF (IN)JUSTICE
Thursday 9th November 2000

MARY WAS BORN A WARRIOR
MARY LIVED AS A WARRIOR
MARY WAS KILLED AS A WARRIOR

FOR DISABLED PEOPLES EQUAL RIGHTS TO LIFE CAMPAIGN

Solidarity with our brothers and sisters whose new placard declared Disabled People say: Never Again at St Mary’s Hospital where their peaceful vigil took place.

This Royal Courts Of (In)Justice vigil reminded us all Mary did not die in vain and that this must never happen again to any disabled baby who is fighting for his/her equal right to life.

On a cold, wet and windy night supporters of the campaign came from around the country to share this very solemn but powerful silence protest - we shared tears and strength to carry on.

The Courts security told us that our BANNER must be taken off the court railings which clearly shows our strong stance against the legal injustice system, which Mary received. It really brought it home where the courts handed down the death penalty - for Mary’s only crime - to be born and to live as a very powerful and strong DISABLED WARRIOR who had challenge St Mary’s doctors expectations that she would even be born alive.
